Seattle Out & Proud (Seattle Pride) Board Dedicates $25,000 in Emergency Funds to Address COVID-19
As organizers of two of Seattle’s largest LGBTQIA+ Pride events – the Seattle Pride Parade and Seattle Pride in the Park – we remain hopeful that community festivals will be able to resume within a couple months.
We also know that a community festival is likely not forefront on the minds of our community during the COVID-19 pandemic, which is why the Seattle Pride Board of Directors took bold, compassionate action at our March 18th Board Meeting by designating $25,000 in emergency funds to go to organizations providing on-the-ground support for our most vulnerable populations. Our Executive Director, Krystal Marx, was authorized to disburse funds immediately, and as of March 25th, all funds have been distributed to the following agencies / causes:
|S. Seattle College GoFundMe for Undocumented Communities||$5,000|
|El Centro de la Raza||$5,000|
|Trans and Gender Diverse Emergency Community Aid Fund.||$500|
