PFLAG North Seattle Online Support Meeting - Guest: Genya Shimkin, Q Card Project
, WA
"What is a Q Card? It's an easy-to-use communication tool, conceived by Genya Shimkin while a student at the UW School of Public Health, designed to empower LGBTQ+ youth to become actively engaged in their health, and to support the people who provide their care. We'll learn how to get and use a Q Card and how families, youth and care providers have responded to this helpful tool.
The support portion of the meeting will be in the second hour.
This meeting replaces our usual North Seattle meeting. All are welcome to participate—even if you don't live in Seattle!
Our monthly support meetings provide a comfortable atmosphere of openness where parents, families, friends and LGBTQ individuals can share their experiences with others to learn how to support one another with love and pride. A variety of educational materials are available for free."
