Thanks for an Amazing Pride Season!
Jul 05, 2022 | Seattle Pride
Seattle Pride Month was a Family Reunion to remember thanks to our incredible LGBTQIA+ community, volunteers, Board Members, and staff – YOU made this month possible! After two years of virtual events, we were finally back in-person and it felt so good.
We kicked off the month surprising our Seattle Pride Parade Frontline Grand Marshals on June 1st. These folks were celebrated by Community Grand Marshal Gaysha Starr, Seattle Pride, and their colleagues, friends, and family, and thanked for their enormous contributions to the community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Read more about these amazing people and their contributions.
The celebrations continued at Seattle Pride in the Park at Volunteer Park on Saturday, June 4th. The drizzly Seattle weather didn’t dampen the party with a packed alcohol garden, people dancing along to our queer artists and performers, community booths galore, and so much more. Thank you to everyone who joined in on the party!
We closed out Pride Month with the Seattle Pride Parade along 4th Avenue on Sunday June 26th. Over 400,000 of our closest friends and family came out on a beautiful sunny (and hot!) Seattle Sunday to celebrate how far we’ve come, and advocate for a better future with equal human rights for all. We are so grateful to have such an incredible community that comes together to support one another and make a difference in this world.
We are sad to see the month come to a close but we have good news - this is only the beginning! We have more free LGBTQIA+ in-person events scheduled for the rest of the year so check back regularly, follow us on social media (we’re on TikTok!!), and sign up for our emails (at the bottom of the page) to stay up-to-date.
Thank You Partners
We also would like to acknowledge each and every one of our corporate partners whose contributions make our programs possible all year round.
