Capitol Hill Pride Announcement Response Statement from Seattle Pride

This year Seattle Pride, the organizers of the official Seattle Pride Parade and Pride in the Park events, are hosting a fully virtual Pride celebration this year on Saturday & Sunday, June 26^th & 27^th -- and look forward to the return of the annual Seattle Pride Parade in 2022 when it’s safe for 400,000 people to gather again, and when the city is once again permitting these large community events.

The Capitol Hill Pride organization -- and its march/rally event planned for the same weekend -- is not in any way associated with Seattle Pride, nor is their decision to disallow police participation.

Given concerns about policing in Seattle, Seattle Pride wants to hear from those most impacted and is inviting community input which it will be reviewing as it develops plans -- and coordinates mandatory security requirements with the city -- for next year’s parade.
